Purpose: Updating our constitution

Why?
The Incorporated Societies Act that was enacted in 1908 needed to be updated. A new act, the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 along with updated regulations came into force on 5 October 2023. Together, the new Act and regulations put in place a modern legal, governance and accountability framework for incorporated societies and those who run them. As the Band is an Incorporated Society (1046005) and a registered charity (CC30990) we have had to prepare a new constitution that complies with the new Act so that we can retain these registrations.
